Northwest Territories

The age of majority is 19. There is no stipulated age of consent for treatment. The Mental Health Act applies to children and youth in the same way as adults. If a medical practitioner has determined that a minor is able to understand the nature, risks, and consequences of their decisions, that minor can consent to medical treatment. There is no age limit as to when a minor can be considered a mature minor.
